Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Sara Donlon
Dear Genesee Valley Community,
It is with great excitement that I write this letter of introduction as your new 7-12 principal! Many of you already know me as a teacher at Genesee Valley for the past eleven years. For those who do not know me, allow me to introduce myself.
I grew up in Cuba, NY, and graduated from Cuba-Rushford Central School. After high school, I attended Roberts Wesleyan College in Rochester, NY. I moved back to Allegany County after graduating and started working with Genesee Valley students as the coordinator of the peer-tutoring program for Literacy Volunteers of Allegany County. In 2007, I joined the secondary social studies department at Genesee Valley. In this capacity, I have served as the advisor for many classes and clubs, most recently National Honor Society and Scholastic Challenge. I have also taught summer school and driver education classes. I live in Scio with my husband Jeremy who is also a social studies teacher.
Genesee Valley is where I started my teaching career and it feels completely natural to transition from the classroom to administration in a district that I truly know and love. I believe that educational success is a result of building positive relationships between parents, students, faculty/staff, and community members. I look forward to nurturing existing relationships as well as forming new ones this coming school year.
It is a privilege to play such an integral role in the direction of our school district. I look forward to collaborating with stakeholders to further our district goals and initiatives. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or concerns. Go Jags!
